Things to do in Yoho National Park

Yoho sits just over the Continental Divide from Lake Louise, on the British Columbia side of the Alberta border, roughly 30 minutes past the Banff park boundary.

It is the smallest of the four UNESCO parks in this cluster but one of the densest: Emerald Lake, Takakkaw Falls, the Natural Bridge, the Spiral Tunnels, the Burgess Shale fossil beds, the village of Field, and quota-controlled Lake O'Hara all sit within a compact radius.

The same Parks Canada pass required in Banff applies here, and the Takakkaw Falls access road is closed for winter, typically reopening in June. The reliable season runs late June to September; each site below has its own dedicated page with trail and access detail.
