Things to do at the Banff Gondola and Sulphur Mountain
The Banff Gondola is a paid, commercial ride up Sulphur Mountain, not the hiking trail of the same name and not the Banff Upper Hot Springs at the mountain's base. The cabin takes about 8 minutes to reach the upper terminal at 2281 metres, where a boardwalk continues to Sanson's Peak with views over the Bow Valley and the surrounding peaks.
Return tickets run in the CAD 60-90 range per adult depending on season, and a Parks Canada pass (around CAD 11 per adult per day) is still required to be in the park, separate from the gondola fare. Summer afternoons draw long queues, so booking a timed entry online in advance is worth the ten minutes it takes.
This is not the Jasper SkyTram, which is a different lift in a different park 288 km away.
