Things to do at the Glacier Skywalk
The Glacier Skywalk is a glass-floored observation platform cantilevered 280 metres above the Sunwapta Valley, a few kilometres past the Columbia Icefield Discovery Centre on the Icefields Parkway (232 km, about 3 h 30 from Lake Louise).
It is a short viewing loop, not a bridge or via ferrata: allow 20 to 45 minutes on the walkway itself, longer with the interpretive trail either side. Entry runs roughly 45 to 60 CAD per adult, often sold as a combined ticket with the Ice Explorer glacier tour, and a Discovery Pass is still required to stop anywhere in the park.
The platform is open from April or May to October only; it is closed and inaccessible over winter, so there is nothing to see here outside that window.
