Things to do in Marble Canyon
Marble Canyon sits in Kootenay National Park, where Tokumm Creek has cut a narrow, deep slot through grey limestone over thousands of years. A boardwalk loop of about 800 metres return crosses the gorge on several suspension bridges, manageable for most visitors in 20 to 30 minutes without stops.
A Parks Canada pass is required here too, around 11 CAD per adult per day or 22 CAD per vehicle. A few minutes further along Highway 93 South are the Paint Pots, ochre-tinted mineral springs once used by local First Nations to make pigment.
Parking at Marble Canyon is limited, and in July and August the narrow bridges bottleneck foot traffic even though the walk itself is short.
