Things to do in Golden & the Golden Skybridge

Golden sits roughly 135 km (1 h 30) from Banff along the Trans-Canada Highway, just outside Yoho National Park, so no Parks Canada pass is needed to stay in town.

The main drawcard is the Golden Skybridge: two suspension bridges over a forested canyon, the higher deck around 130 metres up, linked to viewing platforms and hiking trails, open roughly April to October, with tickets from about 45 to 65 CAD per adult.

Next door, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort runs a gondola year-round, with via ferrata routes and downhill mountain biking through summer. Golden is also the practical base for Yoho, closer to Field and Emerald Lake than Banff, and for whitewater rafting on the Kicking Horse River, organised separately from town.
