Things to do at Crowfoot Glacier

Crowfoot Glacier hangs on the flank of Crowfoot Mountain beside the Icefields Parkway, roughly halfway between Bow Lake and Bow Summit, about 45 km (35 minutes) from Banff. A paved viewpoint with a small pull-off car park sits right on the roadside, so there's no trail and no elevation gain involved: you look, you photograph, you move on.

Early prospectors and surveyors named it for three ice claws draped over the rock like a crow's foot; the lowest claw has since retreated and largely disappeared, leaving two visible today rather than three. Most visitors spend 10 to 15 minutes here.

A Parks Canada pass (~11 CAD per adult per day, ~22 CAD per vehicle) is required to be on the Parkway at all, viewpoint included.
